Newbald held two events to mark the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.

A big thank you to everyone involved and all who attended. Despite poor weather, especially on the Sunday, these events were a great success.  Newbald is known for its community spirit and that was very apparent.

See photos of each occasion using the links below. Thank you to Mark Baxter for taking the photographs.

In addition, the following will take place separately later in the year.

Time Capsule

Children from Newbald Young People’s Project will be creating a time capsule to be buried somewhere for future generations to see how we used to live.

Planting of Jubilee Trees

We intend to plant two snow fountain cherry blossom trees to commemorate this Platinum Jubilee year. This will take place in the Autumn/winter. Subject to getting permission, one tree will be planted on the Highways grass in front of the Church, the other on the corner of the A1034 and Westgate.
